Primorye Braces for Sudden Cold Snap and Snow This Weekend

The Primorye region braces for a sudden cold snap and rain with snow over the upcoming weekend, with temperatures expected to drop significantly. Road workers have prepared measures to ensure safe conditions, stockpiling materials and readying equipment.

The deterioration of weather conditions is expected on Saturday, October 18, with the passage of another active cold front. Temperatures may drop to minus 10 degrees Celsius in the northern part of the region. The region may receive its first snow along with the cold snap.

To combat these conditions, a total of 138 combined road machines, 68 snowplows, 15 bulldozers, 32 excavators, 37 loaders, 66 tractors with brooms, and five snow cutters are ready for operation. Regional road workers have prepared measures to ensure safe road conditions, stockpiling 4,700 tons of technical salt, 17,500 tons of sand-salt mixture, 101 tons of eco-friendly reagent bi-Nord, and 34,000 tons of sand in the region's sand bases. Additionally, eight wagons with 500 tons of bi-Nord and 7,000 tons of salt are en route to the region. Primavtodor has prepared over 56,000 tons of anti-icing materials and 361 units of equipment.

The sudden cold snap and deterioration of weather conditions are expected to hit the Primorye region in the coming days. Road workers are well-prepared with equipment and materials to ensure safe road conditions during this period. Motorists are advised to check weather updates and drive cautiously.
