Expanding Ties Between Primorye and Belarus With Equipment Purchases

Primorsky Region Plans to Increase Purchases of Belarusian Equipment in 2026

Hear ye, hear ye! Primorye, a region in Russia, is set to amplify its purchases of Belarusian machinery next year, Governor Oleg Kozhemyako announced at a meeting with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Shuleiko.

Primorye has already laid down roots with 85 units of machinery in the first four months of 2025, and another 130 or so are in the pipeline by year's end - that's some serious equipment investment!

According to the regional leader, they've already ironed out the details for these purchases, and they're not done yet - they're gunning for even more, including emergency vehicles[1].

But it's not just about the iron and steel here. The food sector between the two regions is growing exponentially, with Primorye importing Belarusian goods and their own goods heading to Belarus. They're even working on creating demonstration platforms featuring samples of Belarusian equipment, including the famous MAZ models[1].

Oleg Kozhemyako was quick to point out that people should have a choice, and that choice will be leaning towards Belarusian equipment, thanks to its dependability, convenience, and excellent service[1].

The meeting between the two parties resulted in two agreements: one on trade, economic, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation between the Brest Regional Executive Committee and the Primorye government, and another between the memorial complex "Brest Hero-Fortress" and the Arsenyev Museum Reserve[1].

And here's a fun fact: the trade turnover between Primorsky Krai and Belarus has skyrocketed over the past five years, reaching a whopping $90 million in 2024!
