In a thrilling turn of events for fans of the hit series, "The Summer I Turned Pretty," it has been announced that a feature-length installment will be released to serve as the series ender. This movie will wrap up the story of Belly, played by Lola Tung, and bring closure to her journey.

Jenny Han, the author of the beloved novels, will write and direct the movie. Han, who has co-showrunned the series with Sarah Kucserka in the third season, expressed her gratitude to Prime Video for continuing to support her vision for the story. Amazon-owned streamer Prime Video has also shown its commitment to the project, supporting the production of the movie.

The series, which has been a global sensation, causing moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection, has travelled from the beach to Paris in its final season. Belly reeled from the end of her relationship with Jeremiah Fisher and eventually chose to be with Conrad, adding a twist to the story that left fans on the edge of their seats.

Tung, who plays Belly, is happy with where her character's story ends in the show. In the closing credits of the show, a note from Han teased a potential return to Cousins, hinting at a possible continuation of the series.

Courtenay Valenti and Vernon Sanders, from Amazon MGM Studios, are excited to partner with Jenny Han again to bring fans an unforgettable next chapter. Han stated that the story is the primary factor in any potential revisit of the series.

Interestingly, Han and Kucserka served as co-showrunners on season three of the show, and Sarah Kucserka will co-write the movie alongside Jenny Han. Jenny Han, however, has stated that the book's epilogue and Belly's wedding were not shown in the finale episode, leaving room for speculation about what the movie might hold.

All in all, fans of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" can look forward to a satisfying conclusion to Belly's story with the upcoming movie. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
