Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit West Bengal's Alipurduar today, where he will lay the foundation stone for a significant City Gas Distribution project spanning Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts. The venture, valued at over Rs 1010 crore, aims to provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to more than 2.5 lakh households, supply PNG to commercial establishments and industries, and offer Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to vehicular traffic by setting up around 19 CNG stations.

Hailed as a key initiative to expand the country's clean energy infrastructure, the project is expected to generate employment, promote clean energy in the region, and align with the government's Minimum Work Program (MWP) targets.

In arelated development, Prime Minister Modiused a social media platform to accuse the ruling Trinamool Congress of corruption and mismanagement in West Bengal. He is set to address a BJP West Bengal public meeting in Alipurduar tomorrow.

Notably, this marks the Prime Minister's visit to West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh on May 29 and 30, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of development projects worth more than Rs 70,000 crore.
