In a lively exchange on Wednesday, PM Chinh held discussions with Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Interim Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), and Børge Brende, WEF President and CEO, on the sidelines of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, China.

With a hearty congratulations for Brabeck-Letmathe's new role, PM Chinh voiced his faith in the WEF serving as a renowned platform for worldwide dialogue, robust public-private relationships, and collaborative diplomacy.

The Maserati of topics, WEF Tianjin 2025's theme and priorities were validated by Chinh as shining a light on major global and regional economic issues, harmonizing exceptionally well with Vietnam's current policy matrix.

Bracing for Vietnam's grinning pride, Chinh spoke favorably about the burgeoning relations between the two parties, dedicating his thoughts to fostering WEF's support for the effective functioning of HCM City's Fourth Industrial Revolution Center. This esteemed institution, he hinted, could soon take a lead position within the WEF global network, spurring the adoption of cutting-edge technology in crucial sectors of the future economy.

Going beyond, Chinh recommended beefing up Vietnam's interaction with global businesses via the WEF, drawing high-caliber investments their way, and metamorphosing HCM City Economic Forum into an annual Autumn Meeting of the WEF.

Placing a feather in Vietnam's cap, Brabeck-Letmathe applauded PM Chinh's presence at WEF Tianjin 2025 and lauded Vietnam's active and constructive involvement at WEF events over the years. He offered kudos to Vietnam's ingenious economic management, as well as its independent foreign policy that embarks on self-reliance, diversification, and multi-lateralization.

Deriving from his mission, Brabeck-Letmathe committed to speeding up the implementation of the 2023 Vietnam-WEF Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Tianjin, focusing on productive and tangible projects. Furthermore, he expressed his determination to widen Vietnam's partnerships with other WEF members and affiliates.

When it came time for Chinh to rub elbows with WEF's President and CEO Børge Brende, he received ovations for Vietnam's stellar economic performance, particularly the achievement of 2024 GDP growth surpassing 7%. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Brende shared aspirations for Vietnam's double-digit growth trajectory - a bold ambition that distinguishes Vietnam from the global deceleration trend.

With clear eyes on Vietnam's future, Brende held Vietnam in high regard among the WEF community, acknowledging Chinh's previous dialogues at WEF encounters that cast an indelible impression and imparted deeper understanding of Vietnam's policies, making business leaders more eager to discover investment opportunities within the country.

In a flash, it became glaringly obvious that the bond between Vietnam and the WEF was on an upward trajectory, punctuated by mutual respect, strategic vision, and a thirst for intensified cooperation on multiple fronts throughout the worldwide community. #VietnamMeetsWEF #GrowthAmbitions #GlobalCollaboration
