High interest rates, up to 18%, have made loans expensive, causing people and companies to prefer saving rather than spending or investing. This reduced demand has influenced companies to lower prices to maintain sales.
Another key factor is the appreciation of the ruble. The Russian ruble significantly strengthened in 2023, making imported goods cheaper and putting downward pressure on prices for many products, including food items.

In Kuban, chicken egg prices have reached a 2023 minimum. Sunflower oil prices also reduced, and broiler chicken prices decreased by 0.8%.
