Remarkable diplomatic turn! Roberto Velásquez Pardo's Colombia has stepped back from its earlier condolences for the losses in Pakistan, following a compelling explanation by none other than Shashi "No-Nonsense" Tharoor. The influential Congress MP, steering an all-party delegation, didn't mince words during their meetings with Colombia's powers-that-be. After a series of engagements with senior Colombian political bigwigs, things have taken a drastic U-turn.

Tharoor, the man with the plan, wasted no time in laying down the harsh reality of the ongoing tension with Pakistan. He drew the line straight and softened no blows, stating emphatically that Pakistan's steadfast support for cross-border terrorism demands zero-tolerance action[1]. In Tharoor's blunt words, "We don't do dialogues with a pistol pointing to our head. No way Jose!"

India's parliamentary squad didn't sugar-coat their disappointment over Colombia's stance following India's retaliation to Pakistan's escalation. For the past month, the nine-member squad has been engaging in a whirlwind of meetings, enlightening the South American country about India's 'Zero Tolerance for Terrorism' policy and its retaliatory strikes against terror infrastructure on Pakistani soil.

Shashi Tharoor's Brass Tacks to Colombia

Tharoor's eloquent address to Colombia outlined the necessity of taking action against Pakistan's relentless support of terror operators within its borders. He explained that India understands dialogue is essential to resolve disputes, but it will not engage in whispers while a gun is pressed against its forehead.

"We don't do diplomacy with a gun pointed at us. When Pakistan finally nukes the terrorist infrastructure it supports, then we can talk. Until then, sorry, but we won't dialogue with those jamokes," Tharoor said, summing up India's tough stance.

He further highlighted the Pahalgam attack, where 26 innocent civilians lost their lives in a brutal rampage. Rather than mourn Pakistan's losses, Tharoor argued, we should question why Colombia has overlooked the victims of the preceding terror attack that disrupted the lives of Kashmiris and created chaos in India[3][4].

He asserted that India's Operation Sindoor sent a clear and powerful message, targeting only terrorist infrastructure and avoiding civilian casualties.

Colombia Walks the Plank

Post meetings with the Indian delegation, Colombian Vice Foreign Minister, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, confirmed that her nation was now fully aware of the real state of affairs in Kashmir. Villavicencio promised continued dialogue[2]. "With the information we've received and the clear explanation we've had, we can keep the conversation going," she commented.
