Canadian Ice Hockey Star Trevor Parkes Bids Farewell to EHC Red Bull Munich

Trevor Parkes, the erstwhile record goal scorer for EHC Red Bull Munich in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), announced his departure from the club after seven years of service. During his tenure, he helped the team win the German championship in 2023 and set numerous scoring records.

Parkes played a total of 332 DEL games for the Red Bulls until the 2024/25 season. However, the 2024 season was marred by a severe knee injury, which deprived him of playing any games.

Speaking about his time with the club, Parkes shared, "The past seven years were undoubtedly the best of my career. Moving to Munich was an easy decision that I have never regretted. There are unforgettable moments: Holding the championship trophy two years ago was certainly the highlight of my career."

Prior to joining Munich in the summer of 2018, Parkes spent two seasons with the Augsburg Panthers. Until February 16, 2023, he held the EHC Red Bull Munich's DEL record for goals with 128. However, Yasin Ehliz now holds the top spot with 131 DEL goals. Notably, in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, Parkes was the regular season goal leader. In his first five years with the Red Bulls, he scored 98 DEL goals—a higher tally than any other DEL player during that period.

Reflecting on Parkes' contribution, manager Christian Winkler said, "Trevor was a real impact player—on and off the ice—during his time with us. He was a leader through and through. Unfortunately, a severe injury last season held him back, so he couldn't end his time with us as he deserved." Winkler echoed sentiments shared by team members, praising Parkes as one of the best in the organization's history.

Parkes' departure marks the end of an era for the Red Bulls, as they prepare for a new season without their long-standing star player. With Yasin Ehliz poised to continue the goal-scoring momentum, the team looks forward to challenging for more titles in the DEL.

Trevor Parkes' illustrious tenure at EHC Red Bull Munich, characterized by a seven-year stint, numerous scoring records, and a German championship win in 2023, has come to an end following his announcement of departure. His affinity for ice hockey, as evidenced by his 131 DEL goals and two seasons spent as the regular season goal leader, aligns him with the realm of professional ice hockey sports in the National Hockey League (NHL).
