Fast forward to 2016, and Poklonskaya found herself with a new gig in the State Duma. However, she started causing trouble yet again when she publicly rebelled against the pension reform in September 2018. Her final act of defiance came with the beginning of the war in Ukraine in March 2022, when she recorded an appeal urging for an end to the war.

Poklonskaya's religious zealotry has been legendary, with a particular focus on the canonization of Russian Emperor Nicholas II. She even claimed that his portrait on her desk was "myrrh-streamed." In 2017, she caused a fuss when she vehemently opposed a film about the last emperor of Russia.

But it's not all lace and Bible verses for our gal. A few years ago, her Telegram channel underwent a transformation, becoming a spiritual guru's playground. Gone were the days of political rants and Orthodox content, replaced instead by “spiritual” festivals.
By September 2024, she was causing another scandal by discussing "ancient magic" during an open lesson in the occupied Kherson region. Needless to say, this did not sit well with the Orthodox priests and "Spas" TV channel. To add fuel to the fire, she also celebrated the festival of Samhain, causing yet another stir.
Finally, to top it all off, she recently decided to embrace the hippie life by sporting dreadlocks. Her latest post celebrates the Kupalle, a traditional Slavic festival that she claims is a great opportunity to "reconnect with our Roots, Power, and Fire." She also believes that ancient traditions hold the "sought-after truth" passed down through the whispers of our ancestors.
That's not all - a few months back, our beloved prosecutor-turned-guru faced a backlash from Orthodox leaders after discussing "ancient magic" with schoolchildren in occupied territory. And let's not forget the scandal she caused when she embraced the festival of Samhain, AKA Halloween, which is known in the West for its pagan roots.
