Preview: Unveiled Exclusively - A Snippet from the Following Outlander Installment: Blood of my Blood
In the third episode of the highly anticipated series "Outlander: Blood of My Blood," titled "School of the Moon," the Grant family intersects directly with the MacKenzie clan and its internal politics.
The episode opens with a power struggle between Colum and Dougal MacKenzie, the brothers vying for the position of laird. The power struggle intensifies as they vie for Ellen MacKenzie's hand in marriage, with Colum seeking an alliance and Dougal seeking to maintain his dominance.
Ellen, played by Harriet Slater, is a strong-willed character who refuses to be married off. She proposes a unique leadership system, where Colum rules during peacetime and Dougal during wartime, ensuring unity rather than division. Her cunning maneuvering preserves her family's power and autonomy, and at the oath-taking ceremony, both brothers kneel in fealty to one another.
Meanwhile, Julia, the mother of Claire Beauchamp, finds herself in a difficult situation. She is taken to Castle Leathers and forced into service for Lord Lovat. The details of her plight remain unclear, but it appears she is making impossible choices involving her pregnancy and escape plans.
Henry and Ned Gowan, Julia's husband and lawyer, are seen searching for her, and Brian Fraser, the illegitimate son of Lord Lovat, is involved in helping Julia. This connection further intertwines the Grant and MacKenzie stories.
The first two episodes of "Outlander: Blood of My Blood" were shown at once, and new episodes will air every Friday through October 10, 2025, with the exception of October 3. The show is streaming exclusively on Starz.
