Get ready for the Summer Solstice, because Fête de la Musique is back with a bang! This one-day, free music festival takes over theaters, bars, parks, and squares across Berlin, and with so much to see and hear, it can be a challenge deciding where to spend your day.
Here are some of the top local acts to check out in Berlin's central districts:
Friedrichshain
- Cassiopeia party x Fritz Sessions - With an impressive lineup of five artists before handing the mic over to Radio Fritz at 7PM, you'll be treated to a danceable mix of alt-pop, hip hop, and more.

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
- Pangea Haus - This international cultural centre will host a lively programme of international music and dance in front of their Levant Café. Don't miss the Korean HeRo choir and Faux Pas, a Balkan dance circle.

Kreuzberg
- Stil vor Talent block party at Wiener Straße - This 20-year-old electronic label will host an afternoon block party with drinks by their office across from Görlitzer Park. Seven artists split between two stages should keep you dancing well into the warm summer evening.

Mitte
- Fête de la Musique at Museum für Kommunikation - This courtyard is home to an interesting cast of musicians, with acts like Checkpoint band and experimental pop group TENGO KAWANA. Besides the music, the museum will be free to explore for the day, with tours through their NEWS exhibition starting at 5PM.

Wedding
- Sapphire and Lorenzo at Zeitgeist Zentrum - R&B artist Sapphire's rich, full-bodied compositions and indie pop musician Lorenzo Graef's upbeat guitar riffs combine in this cozy joint show. This indoor setting makes it a great spot to take a break from all the partying outside.

Neukölln
- Rough Trade Showcase - This famous label's Berlin location is hosting a strong lineup of signed artists. Don't miss perfectly dismal post-rock duo AFAR, eclectic rap artist Deki Alem, and sugary-sweet indie pop outfit Cassia.

Tiergarten
- Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra - Featuring guest conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony and Beethoven's Incidental music for Goethe's Egmont, op. 84 in front of the Berlin Kulturforum's Philharmonie. If you can't make it to the Philharmonie's gorgeous outdoor setting, the concert will also be broadcasted online.

Woltersdorf
- Modeselektor at Woltersdorfer Schleuse - If you're willing to make the hour and a half-trip to Woltersdorf, you might be in for a treat - IDM duo Modeselektor's all-vinyl DJ set will be hosted on the town's centuries-old water locks. Expect five sets over nine hours in a historical and oddly idyllic setting.
