On the 17th of September, the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, graced Windsor Castle as they met President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. This marked the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales had the honour of greeting the US President and his wife.

The Princess of Wales, known for her classic style, chose a dress that was as polished and sophisticated as the occasion. The deep red wine-colored dress, crafted by the British fashion brand Alexander McQueen, featured a fitted bodice, collared neckline, and a flared skirt that added a touch of elegance to her ensemble.

According to fashion enthusiasts, Kate's recent preference for Chanel accessories has only served to elevate her style further. During the event, she carried a burgundy quilted Chanel bag, the hardware of which was gold, adding a touch of richness to the bag's deep color.

Complementing her dress and bag, Kate wore burgundy court heels, a Jane Taylor hat, and a dark red quilted Chanel bag. The choice of burgundy, a popular autumn/winter color trend, was a fitting one, as it complemented black, navy, grey, or camel, colours often seen in formal wear.

Interestingly, Queen Camilla is also known for her own Chanel bags, and the Princess of Wales following in Her Majesty's footsteps with fashion is an intriguing observation. Many of Kate's handbags tend not to have obvious branding, a choice that adds to the understated elegance of her style.

Prince William and Kate have taken on this role at several other State Visits, showcasing their ability to adapt to formal occasions while maintaining their unique sense of style. The event at Windsor Castle was no exception, with Kate's outfit demonstrating her knack for making a stylish impression while remaining true to her classic aesthetic.

In a departure from her previous State Visit attire, where she wore a midi-length Emilia Wickstead coat dress, Kate chose a dress for this occasion that was more fitting for an intimate meeting. The choice of pastel pink as a current autumn/winter fashion colour trend was overlooked, with Kate opting for the rich, autumnal burgundy instead, making a bold and stylish statement.

The State Visit was a significant event, marking a new chapter in the relationship between the UK and the US. With the royal couple's impeccable style and grace, they certainly added an element of elegance and sophistication to the occasion.
