Preparingfor a Change: Jonathan Tah Expresses Intent to Transition
FC Bayern Munich nears the signing of Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, according to numerous media outlets. The 29-year-old center-back has reportedly given his agreement to join the record champions, with a potential four-year contract under negotiation.
Bild, Kicker, Sky, and other publications reveal Tah's intent to move to Munich. The defender is scheduled for a medical examination in Munich next week, and the FC Bayern supervisory board has already approved the transfer without a release clause.
However, the precise timing of the transfer remains undecided. Bayern hopes to secure Tah's services for the Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, and are currently in discussions with Bayer Leverkusen. Tah's contract with the former champions expires at the end of June, and he will leave without a transfer fee.
Previously, Tah was a target for Bayern in 2024 when the club deemed the allegedly up to 30 million euros demanded transfer fee excessively high. FC Barcelona, managed at the time by former national coach Hansi Flick, were also interested, but financial constraints make a potential transfer challenging for the Catalan side.
