Preparing to Face the Downpour: Kuwait's Emergency Crews Stance

The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PARLT) is gearing up for the upcoming rainy season, ensuring strict quality standards and timely delivery of services. According to Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, the Director General of PARLT, preparations have been completed, and the authority is fully prepared to respond to any situation during the rainy season.

In the face of potential challenges, emergency teams under PARLT stand ready to address any issues that may arise. These efforts extend to providing water pumps and specialized units, as well as focusing on the safety of road users. The priority during the rainy season is to minimize the impact of rainfall on traffic and ensure the safety of those using the roads.

PARLT's preparations also involve a comprehensive plan to identify locations where rainwater may collect. Field teams are working intensively to remove sand from open stretches of Al-Wafra Road, a key artery, and efforts are ongoing to clear accumulated debris. Coordination with relevant government bodies is ongoing to unify efforts during the rainy season.

Motorists are urged to drive cautiously during these works and follow instructions from traffic safety teams. The coordination efforts for debris removal from Al-Wafra Road are led by the local municipal authority or disaster management team in the affected area.

Field teams have been assigned to monitor and address areas with potential rainwater collection immediately. This proactive approach is part of a wider plan to maintain traffic safety, with PARLT's commitment to schedules reflected in the progress made.

In addition to the preparations for the rainy season, PARLT is making significant strides in other areas. The Seventh Ring Road maintenance work is progressing rapidly, reaching 83.42% completion. The accelerated pace of work is a testament to PARLT's dedication to its mission, and the completion of this project will ease pressure on the wider road network and improve services for motorists.

PARLT remains committed to its mission of maintaining the highest quality standards while delivering services in a timely manner. Eng. Al-Osaimi stated that the authority continues to monitor operations around the clock to ensure the smooth running of services during the rainy season and beyond.
