The Ayr Gold Cup, a prestigious horse race with a prize of £180,000, is set to take place at 3.35 PM on the 16th of September. This year, the race is expected to be a thrilling one, with a strong field of sixteen horses and a potential surprise winner.

Trainer Michael Dods, who is yet to claim victory in the Ayr Gold Cup, has entered his three-year-old in the competition. After its impressive victory in the Constantine Handicap at York last month, Dods' horse is a favourite among bookmakers. However, it will be partnering with jockey James Doyle for the first time, adding an element of uncertainty to its chances.

Joining Dods' contender in the race is Kevin Ryan's Ain't Nobody, another horse that has been generating interest in the betting markets. Ryan has also declared Hammer The Hammer for the event.

Richard Spencer has declared a strong trio for the Ayr Gold Cup: Two Tribes, Twilight Calls, and Run Boy Run. These horses will be looking to outshine the well-fancied horses in the betting, such as Flash Harry, Strike Red, Alfa Kellenic, and Purosangue.

The sixteen horses listed in the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup Handicap are Northern Ticker, Ain't Nobody, Two Tribes, Purosangue, Strike Red, Alfa Kellenic, Flash Harry, Hammer The Hammer, Jubilee Walk, Run Boy Run, Twilight Calls, Commanche Falls, Fahrenheit Seven, Go Athletico, Solar Aclaim, and Kodi Lion.

Meanwhile, in the Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes, scheduled for 3.15 PM at Newbury, the following horses and jockeys are running: Flying Comet, Gold Queen Kindly, Into The Sky, Rock On Thunder, Rydale Frosty, Sands Of Spain, Watcha Snoop, and Words Of Truth. The betting for this race stands at 15-8 for Into The Sky, 5-2 for Words Of Truth, 7-2 for Rock On Thunder, and so on.

The Ayr Gold Cup is often ripe for a surprise, as evidenced by the win of "The Great Day" in 2023. Despite the favourites and strong contenders, it remains to be seen who will take the coveted title this year.

As always, the race promises to be an exciting spectacle, with the horses and jockeys giving their all in the pursuit of victory. Stay tuned for updates on the Ayr Gold Cup and other horse racing events.
