Prepare for the Bundesschieferfest event in Mönchengladbach
25th Federal Shooting Festival Kicks Off in Mönchengladbach
The city of Mönchengladbach on the Lower Rhine is set to host the 25th Federal Shooting Festival from Friday, September 19, 2025. Horst Thoren, the co-organizer and district brother master of the event, expressed a positive feeling about the upcoming festival weekend.
The Historical German Shooting Brotherhoods will be hosting the event for the fourth time. Parallel to the federal festival in Mönchengladbach, the Sauerland Shooting Association is celebrating its federal festival in Menden this weekend.
Approximately 15,000 shooters are expected to attend the festival in Mönchengladbach, with the majority coming from many regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The festival will start with an ecumenical church service in the Mönchengladbach Cathedral, followed by a grand military tattoo on the cathedral square.
The federal king shooting, a highlight of the festival, will take place on Saturday at the Rheindahlen district shooting range. A total of 103 candidates, including ten women, will compete for the federal king title. The winner of the competition will lead the parade of around 15,000 shooters on the old market on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the available search results do not provide information on the names of the ten women who participated in the royal shooting at the previous fafsa login festival in Mönchengladbach.
Horst Thoren has stated that he is not familiar with sexual misconduct in the shooting brotherhood. There have been no further discussions with associations after the incidents in Neuss, according to Thoren. He is convinced that nothing like the incidents in Neuss will happen at the Federal Shooting Festival in Mönchengladbach.
After the military tattoo, the party will continue open air in the old town. The festival will conclude on Sunday, with the parade of shooters on the old market.
Simultaneously, the Sauerland Shooting Association's federal festival in Menden is expected to attract around 5,000 shooters. The festivities in both cities promise to be a celebration of tradition, camaraderie, and precision shooting.
