Preparations intensify in Israel: Readying for simultaneous conflicts with Iran, West Bank, and Jordan
The Israeli military recently conducted a surprise drill named "Dawn Rising" on July 29, 2025, with the aim of preparing the country for a quick, complicated, multi-front war. The drill was designed to address the rising regional unrest and changing security dangers.
The exercise was a large-scale event, involving the Israeli army, police, and Mossad. It tested the army's key headquarters, tactical units, special forces, and parts of the air, sea, and land forces for readiness. The drill simulated potential threats from multiple fronts, including a border breach from Jordan, drone attacks on Ramon Airport, missile and drone attacks on an offshore gas platform, and armed attacks in the West Bank.
The training scenario included simultaneous events, such as a Jordanian invasion and armed attacks in the West Bank. The drill focused on the first 90 minutes of a potential conflict, assessing communication, troop deployment, and quick response capabilities.
The Israeli military used various resources during the drill, including 15 pickup trucks for quick attacks, air defense units, Golani and Kfir troops, attack helicopters, and navy forces. Iran simulated a fake volley of missiles during the first four hours of the drill.
Special inspection teams were sent to all military areas to check readiness based on the events of October 7. The army stated that unlike October 7, there were no tactical mistakes during the drill.
