Gearing Up for Krasnoyarsk's 80th Victory Day Celebration: Packing Streets with Pride and Remembrance!
Preparations are in full swing in Krasnoyarsk as the city prepares to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. Officials have been working tirelessly to plan extravagant festivities and beautify the city's streets.
Mayor Vladislav Logynov spearheaded the organization committee to ensure a memorable event. By April 11, city officials will have drafted the concept and plan for the city's festive decor, with prominent locations such as:
- Krasnoyarskiy Rabochiy Prospekt: This area near the "Krasnoyarsk - City of Labor Valor" stela will receive a vibrant makeover for the celebration.
- "Memorial of Victory" Museum: This somber yet significant venue will also be adorned for the occasion.
- Theatersquare, Prospekt Mir, and the park near DK 1 May: These popular urban hubs will also contribute to the festive atmosphere.
By early May, the area surrounding the "Krasnoyarsk at Kr " coal mine, where the Victory Day Parade will take place, will be decked out with tribunes and canopies for 450 veterans.
According to reports, veterans will receive lapel pins during the celebration, and 12 portable toilets will be installed near the "Memorial of Victory" and "Krasnoyarsk - City of Labor Valor" stela. These outdoor spaces will momentarily be devoid of stops and traffic signals during rehearsals and the actual parade. Ceremonial marches by military units will be broadcast on at least two giant LED screens.
Before April 21, organizers should finalize the details of the actual celebratory events. Although the specifics are not yet clarified, it is rumored that public transportation will blast recordings extolling the heroes of WWII, and buses will also be decorated. In addition, documentaries about the "Memorial of Victory" and the Victory in WWII will be produced.
On May 9th, the following events will undoubtedly take place: the "Immortal Battalion" event (further details are still uncertain), the traditional track-and-field relay, the "Torch of Victory" event, and a grand concert on Theatersquare.
Temporary food stalls will be set up at popular gathering spots.
From March to July, a series of documentaries depicting the lives of WWII heroes who have namesake schools and streets in Krasnoyarsk is anticipated under the "Honoring Heroes" project. Furthermore, throughout the year, authorities plan to carry out restorations and renovations to memorials, statues, and monuments honoring fallen soldiers from Krasnoyarsk.
