Celebrating a Decade of Geek Culture: Yakutia's GeekFest 2025
Get ready for an exciting celebration of geek culture as the popular Yakutia's GeekFest returns for its 10th anniversary! This year's event is set to take place on August 11, 2025, at the "Туймаада" Stadium in Yakutsk, Yakutia.
The festival promises to be even bigger than previous years, with around forty partners offering competitions, gifts, and a variety of activities. Last year, over ten thousand people attended the festival, making it one of the most popular events in the region.
The main attractions of the festival include cosplay contests, fan zones, photo zones, fairs, special guest appearances, and competitions. The animated series "Metal Family" will headline the event, with its YouTube channel boasting over 3.2 million subscribers.
Five Yakutian films will also be shown at the festival, including a new series from NVK Sakha and a film by Feoktist Alekseev. The prize fund for the cosplay competition totals one million rubles, with a grand prize of 100,000 rubles.
This year's cosplay competition has multiple categories, including "Best Sewing", "Best Detailing", and "Image Fidelity". If you're a fan of drawing, there will be a competition for you too.
In addition to these, you can expect a comic fair, an author's alley, and a handicraft fair. Short films will also be screened at the festival.
For a VIP experience, 350 tickets will be available, offering separate entry and a large package of festival merchandise.
