Preliminary outcomes of the 2025 local elections announced

In the recently concluded elections in Dormagen, Germany, several candidates have made significant strides.

In the mayoral race, Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) leads with a commanding 48.6% of the votes. However, the race for the second spot is tight, with Anissa Saysay (CDU) following closely behind with 28.9% of the votes.

The SPD also emerged as the strongest fraction in the Dormagen city council, securing 33.5% of the votes. The CDU came in second with 30.1% of the votes.

In the Landrat election, Katharina Reinhold (CDU) received the highest number of votes with 40.4%. Hakan Temel (SPD) came in second with 25.3%, while Dirk Schimanski (GREENS) and René Jungbluth (GREENS) followed with 10.5% and 5.5% of the votes respectively. Torsten Güntzel (FDP) and Lisa Granderath (THE PARTY) received 3.5% and 2.7% of the votes respectively.

Surprisingly, Nils Bergschneider (THE PARTY) and Ahmet Dogan, an independent candidate, are in fourth and fifth place with 2.9% and 4.3% of the votes respectively. Pierre Milbrath (UWG/FW) and Hans-Joachim Woitzik (DZP) also received 2.3% and 5.3% of the votes in the Landrat election.

The preliminary results indicate a necessary runoff election for the Landrat/Landratin position as no candidate received more than 50% of the votes in the Landrat election. The search results do not contain information about which candidate will participate in the second round of the district administrator election in Dormagen if the election results are confirmed.

The results also show that Thomas Freitag (DZP) received 4.1% of the votes in the mayoral race, while Rene Jungbluth (GREENS) came in third with 5.5% of the votes in the Landrat election.

As the election results are verified, it will be interesting to see how the final outcome shapes up in Dormagen's political landscape.
