In the recent Landrat election held in Dormagen, several political parties and independent candidates vied for the position. The results, announced by the election commission, have shed light on the political landscape of the city.

In the race for the Landrat, Katharina Reinhold (CDU) emerged as the frontrunner with a substantial 40.4% of the votes. However, due to the close nature of the election, a runoff election is required. If the election commission confirms the results, Anissa Saysay (CDU) will be the CDU's candidate in the runoff. Hakan Temel (SPD) follows closely with 25.3% of the votes, and René Jungbluth (GREENS) comes in third with 5.5%. Dirk Schimanski (GREENS) received 10.5% of the votes, and Maritta Schwartz (AfD) garnered 15.8%.

The SPD, with 33.5% of the votes, has secured the strongest faction in the Dormagen city council. The CDU comes in second with 30.1% of the votes. Ahmet Dogan, an independent candidate, is in fourth place with 4.3% of the votes, while Torsten Güntzel (FDP) received 3.5% and Nils Bergschneider (THE PARTY) received 2.9%. Other candidates, including Pierre Milbrath (UWG/FW) and Lisa Granderath (THE PARTY), each received under 3% of the votes.

In the Dormagen mayoral race, Erik Lierenfeld (SPD) leads with a significant 48.6% of the votes. The results demonstrate a clear preference for Lierenfeld, setting the stage for the future of Dormagen's leadership.

The runoff election for the Landrat position will be an exciting conclusion to the election cycle, as the city eagerly awaits the final outcome. Stay tuned for further updates on the Dormagen political scene.
