Preliminary Outcome of 2025 Local Elections
Menden residents have until September 23, 2025, to apply for mail-in voting for the upcoming runoff election. The runoff election, scheduled for September 28, 2025, will decide the Mayor's office between Manuela Schmidt (CDU) and Jens Wilkens (SPD).
If you prefer to vote by mail, you can apply online or by email at wahlen@unsere website. Alternatively, you can visit the mail-in voting office located at the New Town Hall (1st floor, Neumarkt 5). The mail-in voting office will open on September 18, 2025, and will be open from Monday to Wednesday from 8 am to 4 pm, Thursday from 8 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. Application and direct voting at the mail-in voting office will be possible until September 26, 2025, until 3 pm.
Citizens who have already voted by mail for the municipal election on September 14, 2025, will receive their voting materials in the coming days. The red voting envelope (for mail-in voting) must be received by the election office no later than September 28, 2025, at 4 pm. It is important to note that citizens are required to bring a valid photo ID and their voting notification to the mail-in voting office.
For those who prefer to vote in person, the polling stations will be open from 8 am to 6 pm on September 28, 2025. If you no longer have your voting notification, you can also vote at your polling station with your ID card or passport.
The preliminary final results for the Landrat Election, District Council Election, Mayoral Election, Council Election, and Integration Council Election for Menden are now available. The results for the runoff election will be announced following the conclusion of the voting on September 28, 2025. The results for all elections can be viewed here.
