Predicts MAGA movement flawlessly via The Simpsons' prophetic approach to storytelling
In an interview with Variety, Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, shared his predictions for the upcoming Season 37 of the long-running sitcom.
The Simpsons, which has been on the air since 1990, has a history of predicting future events with surprising accuracy. Some of the predictions the show has made in the past include Donald Trump's presidency and the merger between Disney and 20th Century Fox.
For Season 37, set to premiere in fall 2025, Groening has made several humorous and bold predictions. One of these involves Elon Musk, who Groening predicts will be the first man to land on Mars but will crash land and be marooned there while hearing cheering from Earth.
Another prediction involves America symbolically returning the Statue of Liberty to France, reminding everyone of the true meaning of liberty. Groening also joked that The Simpsons might end if a certain political figure dies, with the show depicting dancing in the streets, but a fictional President Vance (presumably a character in The Simpsons) would ban dancing.
Regarding MAGA, Groening specifically joked that The Simpsons predicts children will free their Republican parents from MAGA influence by simply removing Fox News from their viewing options, implying a satirical critique of media consumption and political allegiances.
Kids across America will also "liberate their Republican parents from the cult of MAGA" by deleting Fox News from the TV remote controls, according to Groening's predictions. North America will remember what the word Liberty means after returning the Statue of Liberty to France, he added.
The upcoming season 37 of The Simpsons has no signs of stopping anytime soon. With the show already renewed through Season 40, it seems that The Simpsons has no end in sight as of now.
