Predicted Winners for the Initial Round of the 3M Open 2025: Consistent Early Leaders Predicted to Maintain Pace at TPC Twin Cities
The PGA Tour campaign continues this week as the 3M Open takes center stage at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota.
One of the players to watch is Sam Burns, who is among the outright betting picks for the tournament. Burns has been in good form lately and will be looking to build on his recent successes.
Another player to keep an eye on is Chris Gotterup, who has had an extremely successful past two weeks in the British Isles. Gotterup will be hoping to carry that momentum into this week's event and challenge for the title.
Michael Thorbjornsen had a strong start to the tournament but was held back by a mid-round bogey and a couple of close shaves. Despite this, he remains a contender for the first-round leader odds, priced at +5000. Thorbjornsen has had a solid season so far, with an impressive 27 rounds in the 60s and an average of 4.38 birdies per round. He also carded a 66 during his first visit to TPC Twin Cities last season.
Thorbjørn Olesen and Anders Albertson are currently most likely to be the leaders after the first round, both sharing the lead with a score of -14. Jake Knapp and Sam Stevens are also close contenders with scores of -13 and -12 respectively. Knapp, who is T26th for total rounds in the 60s this season, ranks 10th on the PGA Tour for Round 1 Scoring Average with a total of 68.84.
Max Greyserman, Maverick McNealy, and Wyndham Clark are among the other outright betting picks for the 3M Open, alongside Chris Gotterup and Sam Burns. Scottie Scheffler has already wrapped up the men's Major season with his win at The Open Championship.
Other players in the running for the first-round leader odds include Tony Finau, Jake Knapp, Akshay Bhatia, Si Woo Kim, Max Homa, Adam Scott, Davis Thompson, Kurt Kitayama, Cameron Champ, Rickie Fowler, Luke Clanton, Jesper Svensson, Niklas Norgaard, Emiliano Grillo, Keith Mitchell, Sungjae Im, Kevin Yu, Alex Smalley, Rico Hoey, Haotong Li, and Matt Wallace.
As the tournament progresses, it will be interesting to see how these players fare and who will emerge as the eventual winner. With a strong field and a challenging course, the 3M Open promises to be an exciting event.
