Prairies brace for freezing temperatures as mild November fades by weekend

Mild November weather across the Prairies is coming to an end. Forecasters now expect a shift toward colder, more seasonal conditions by the weekend. The change will bring freezing temperatures to both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Winnipeg has enjoyed unseasonably warm days, but this trend will not last. By Wednesday, highs are set to return to normal for late November, hovering around -5 degrees. As long as the ground remains bare, warmer days may still outnumber cooler ones in the area.

The Prairies are heading into a stretch of bitter cold, with freezing temperatures settling in by the weekend. Winnipeg's brief reprieve from winter will fade, while Saskatchewan faces some of the season's coldest air yet. Residents should prepare for wind chills and sub-zero highs in the days ahead.
