Prague’s equestrian showdown begins with Champions League drama and Super Grand Prix
The first day of equestrian competition in Prague kicked off with high-stakes showjumping. Riders and teams battled it out in the Global Champions League Playoffs and the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix. The event also marked the start of the Champions League series, hosting the quarterfinals of the Global Champions League.
Eight teams advanced to the semifinals of the GCL Super Cup, set for Friday, 20 November 2025, at 8:00 PM in Prague’s O2 Arena. The qualifiers include the top four from the 2025 GCL season—Valkenswaard United, Riesenbeck International, Istanbul Warriors, and Shanghai Swans—as well as the Prague Lions, Rome Gladiators, Madrid In Motion, and Basel Cosmopolitains, who progressed from the quarterfinals.
The Rome Gladiators lead after a perfect round, while other teams prepare for the upcoming semifinals. Friday’s competition will determine which riders move forward to the final on Sunday. The event continues with key matches scheduled over the next three days.
