Practice session for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy reveals some uncertainty on Thursday, as he was restricted in his activities during Wednesday's practice.

The San Francisco 49ers (2-0) are preparing for their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals (2-0) this Sunday, and the team's injury report is shaping up to be a significant talking point.

Quarterback Brock Purdy, who has led the 49ers to victories in their first two games, was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. Purdy sustained left shoulder and toe injuries during the season-opening game against the Seattle Seahawks and was sidelined during San Francisco's 26-21 win at New Orleans last week. However, there's a chance he could return to action on Sunday.

In Purdy's absence, backup Mac Jones stepped up and delivered an impressive performance. Against the New Orleans Saints, Jones completed 26 of 39 passes for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Unfortunately, the 49ers will be without several key players for practice. Guard Spencer Burford (knee), defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), fullback Kyle Juszczyk (concussion), and safety Siran Neal (concussion) are all ruled out. Additionally, starting left guard Ben Bartch has been placed on injured reserve due to a high ankle sprain.

To help bolster the offensive line, the 49ers have signed offensive lineman Brandon Parker to the practice squad and promoted tight end Brayden Willis to the active roster.

Defensive end Nick Bosa, running back Christian McCaffrey, and left tackle Trent Williams are all scheduled for a rest day on Wednesday.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals both have perfect records heading into their highly anticipated matchup. The winner will take the early lead in the NFC West division.

Stay tuned for updates on Brock Purdy's injury status and the 49ers' preparations for this critical game.
