Bogotá, the Colombian capital, woke up to a jolt on a chilly Sunday morning. The city was struck by a powerful earthquake, as reported by the AFP news agency. Buildings shuddered, sirens blared, and folks tumbled onto the streets in their nightgowns. Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were initially reported, thanks to a bit of good fortune and solid infrastructure. According to the USGS, this quake packed a punch of 6.3.
