Potential Transfer of Woltemade Looming for Bayern Munich Towards Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane

Sunny Miami - Ex-national baller Stefan Effenberg is buzzing about the meteoric rise of Nick Woltemade. The 56-year-old believes the Stuttgart sensation could be the perfect successor to Harry Kane at FC Bayern Munich down the line.

"Bayern should have this striker on their radar, no question," boasted the ex-Munich kingpin at a jamboree next to the ongoing Club World Cup. While it might take a couple of years, or even until Kane's contract expires in 2027, Effenberg thinks Woltemade could fit the bill.

A Star is Born

"Bayer needs a player like Woltemade in their plans," Effenberg asserted: "Otherwise, they're missing out. Who performs like he does for Stuttgart and in the DFB-Pokal final? He's born for big things."

The 23-year-old Woltemade has been making waves in Slovakia after an impressive rookie season. He tops the scoring chart in the U21 Euro with 4 goals after the group stage and faces Italy in the quarters with the German team this Saturday.

Before the junior tournament, Woltemade made his debut for the national team at the Nations League final tournament. "Many clubs would have been eyeing him," Effenberg said: "This is a great development for the kid." After transferring from Bremen to Stuttgart, he has been blowing minds with his play at VfB. "He's a weird hybrid of basketball player and footballer," Effenberg chuckled. "But he's a mean point forward."

Not Just a Number Nine

Effenberg finds it hard to put Woltemade into a box: "You can drop him up front. He can also slide back and play Defense. He's got some sweet moves that make you say, 'Wow, with his size, that's incredible.' He's no ordinary number nine, but a nine every team needs."

Effenberg appreciates Woltemade's drive even after his debut with the national team. "It's a great attitude," he said: "He could have taken a break after playing for the seniors. But this tournament is big. You can win a title there. He's a game-changer."

Although Woltemade's contract with VfB runs until 2028, buzz suggests Bayern might want to snap him up sooner rather than later. With Kane's departure on the horizon, Bayern needs a forward with the potential to lead the attack, and Effenberg thinks Woltemade might just be the one.
