Tensions Remain! Potential Strike Looming over Charité Subsidiary CFM

Potential action looming over Charité subsidiary: Uncertainty prevails - Potential strike looming over Charité subsidiary again?

Let's dive into the ongoing saga between Verdi and Charité Facility Management (CFM). The union is still on the fence about initiating another strike, but the cards are up in the air. Verdi negotiator Gisela Neunhöffer shares, "We're still chatting with our members about the ideal timing for a new strike. It could be sooner, or it might take a bit longer."

Last week, Verdi instigated an indefinite strike, which was surprisingly curtailed on Friday. Interestingly, Charité Facility Management tried to thwart the strike before it commenced by seeking legal intervention. The court ultimately permitted the strike under certain conditions for a broad offer of emergency services. This, according to Neunhöffer, is still under legal review. Verdi has filed an appeal and is waiting for the process to unfold.

Neunhöffer emphasized, "This isn't a scenario anyone wanted, not even us." The union is urging Charité and CFM to steer clear of the courts and instead focus on agreeing on the necessary emergency services to maintain.

Approximately 3,500 employees work at CFM, with responsibilities ranging from medical technology, ambulance transport, maintenance, cleaning, and security. Verdi is advocating for a pay raise in line with the public service wage agreement valid at Charité, affecting roughly 3,200 employees. In a ballot, an astounding 99.3% of Verdi members at CFM voted in favor of an indefinite strike.

Worth noting, initial search results pointed towards a substantial financial issue at Charité Facility Management totaling millions, but this is unrelated to the current wage dispute or strikes.

Stay tuned for updates from official sources or press releases for the most accurate and up-to-date information. Labor unions like Verdi typically announce potential strikes or progress on their negotiations through official channels.
