Potential Spurs Setup under Thomas Frank: Integration of Brentford Star and Amorim's Favorite Player

New and Improved:

Thomas Frank is the leading candidate to take over at Tottenham following Ange Postecoglou's unceremonious sacking. And it's not just the Danish coach who might be making the move from West to North London this summer.

Spurs haven't gotten the ball rolling with Frank yet, but the Brentford boss may be convinced to leave if the £10 million release clause is met. With Brentford being a selling club, it's possible that Frank believes he's taken the team as far as he can after two top-ten finishes since their promotion in 2021.

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy sees Europa League glory as a meager cover-up for a disappointing domestic season, and he's keen to overhaul the squad. With Champions League cash in the bank, Tottenham is set to splash the cash and overhaul their injury-plagued roster.

So what might the revamped Tottenham squad look like under Frank's leadership? Here's SunSport's prediction:

Let's Talk Football

Tottenham Fans React to Ange Postecoglou's Firing

Cristian Romero could be on his way out, and a new center-back is needed with Tottenham conceding an alarming 65 goals last season. Marc Guehi, who is set to depart Crystal Palace as his contract winds down, could be the perfect addition. Spurs attempted to sign him for £70 million in January, and his calming presence and leadership would be invaluable.

Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur had solid yet inconsistent seasons, and a partner for the talented Lucas Bergwijn is needed.

Thomas Frank might leverage his Danish connections to bring in Morten Hjulmund. The energetic midfielder, who captains Sporting Lisbon and is loved by current Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, is a versatile player who excels in Frank's flexible systems.

Eberechi Eze has a whopping £60 million release clause at Palace and would be a luxury signing if funds are still available.

Tottenham is likely to make Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern Munich permanent for £45 million and the position can be his with Son Heung-min potentially departing. On the opposite flank, Brennan Johnson can be frustrating, but Dejan Kulusevski has caught the eye centrally, opening the door for Tyler Dibling. Sunderland will reportedly let the 19-year-old winger go, and he fits Tottenham's recent policy of signing talented youngsters.

Up top, Frank has transformed Yoane Wissa into a lethal striker, and he'd likely be receptive to a reunion. Wissa notched 19 league goals last season and could be a summer bargain with just a year left on his contract. Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney is destined for the Premier League and would be a tidy addition, particularly next to the pressing machine Ederson from Atalanta. However, a deal for the Brazilian will be tough, as he could cost upwards of £50 million.

Frank might try to bring wingers Kevin Schade or Bryan Mbeumo with him to Tottenham from Brentford. Schade has improved significantly and could fill out the left wing position[2]. Mbeumo is a dream signing, but Tottenham will need to move quickly, as he's rumored to be heading to Manchester United[4].

Thomas Frank's potential arrival at Tottenham could see the Premier League team making a move for Marc Guehi, a defensive stalwart from Crystal Palace, to strengthen their backline following a high number of goals conceded last season. In order to enhance their midfield, the Danish coach might look to Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmund, who currently captains Sporting Lisbon and is admired by Manchester United's manager, Ruben Amorim.
