Aberdeen's Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United, scheduled for August 23, 2025, has already been postponed due to Aberdeen's participation in the Europa League play-offs. The postponement of matches involving Rangers and Hibernian, both participating in European competitions, has not been reported as of yet.

Rangers are competing in the Champions League third qualifying round, with their opponent being Viktoria Plzen. Hibernian, on the other hand, are participating in the Conference League, facing Partizan Belgrade. The first leg of Hibernian's Conference League tie will take place on Thursday.

The outcomes of both European ties will significantly impact the domestic schedule. If Aberdeen or Hibernian advance in their respective competitions, their league games may be postponed. For instance, if Hibernian progresses in the Conference League, their game against Falkirk will be rescheduled. Similarly, if Rangers win their Champions League third qualifying round match, their league game against St Mirren, initially set for August 24, will be suspended. However, if Rangers were to lose, their match against St Mirren will still take place on August 24, at noon.

Dundee United's Europa League play-off opponent is either FCSB of Bucharest or the Kosovan team Drita. The exact opponent will be determined in the lead-up to the match.

Rangers and Hibernian have scheduled Scottish Premiership fixtures for the weekend of August 23/24. The possibility of further schedule changes due to club commitments in both domestic and European competitions will continue to develop.

The first leg of Rangers' Champions League third qualifying round will be broadcast live on BBC Scotland. The drama and excitement of European football will undoubtedly have a ripple effect on the Scottish Premiership, as teams navigate the challenges of competing on multiple fronts.

Celtic notably declined a postponement option, while Rangers and others have utilised the new postponement rule. The ongoing European commitments and their impact on the Scottish Premiership schedule promise to keep football fans on the edge of their seats.
