Potential for Rain in Certain UAE Regions; Temperatures Expected to Reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has released the weather forecast for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from August 6 to August 10, 2025. The forecast indicates typical summer conditions with mostly fair to partly cloudy skies.

During this period, temperatures in Dubai will range between 44°C and 49°C in internal areas, with a maximum of 45°C and a minimum of 33°C. Residents can expect daytime temperatures climbing up to around 44-46°C with nighttime lows dropping to about 32°C. There is a possibility of afternoon showers due to convective clouds, but rain will likely be localized and sporadic rather than widespread.

Abu Dhabi also experiences high daytime temperatures around 46°C with nighttime lows near 34°C. Similar to Dubai, eastern and southern parts of the emirate may see afternoon clouds and brief isolated rain showers.

Sharjah shares a broadly similar pattern of partly cloudy skies and hot temperatures. While direct rainfall predictions for Sharjah are not specified, its proximity to Dubai and Abu Dhabi suggests some chance of convective rain, mostly isolated.

Wind speeds are expected to range between 10 to 25 km/h, sometimes reaching 40 km/h, occasionally stirring dust in exposed areas. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will range from light to moderate in the UAE. These winds could get freshening at times and cause blowing dust across the country.

The sea will be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea. Humidity levels will reach a maximum of 90 per cent in coastal and island areas. The met department predicts it will be humid by Sunday night and Monday morning over some coastal western areas, with a probability of fog or mist formation.

On August 3, the NCM predicts rainfall in some parts of the UAE. However, it's important to note that rainfall is expected to be occasional localized showers mostly in eastern and southern areas, rather than heavy or widespread.

The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 51.8 degrees Celsius. No new temperature predictions for the coming days are available at this time.

It's advisable for residents to stay updated with the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions during this hot and potentially rainy period.

  1. Businesses in the UAE might want to consider closing early or adjusting their operations due to the potentially rainy weather predicted for August 3, which could cause traffic disruptions.
  2. Apart from the usual news about political and economic developments, health bulletins covering heatstroke prevention and proper hydration will be of special importance in the UAE this August, given the expected high temperatures.
  3. While sports enthusiasts in the UAE will have to contend with the heat during outdoor activities, updates on changes in the weather could alter plans for the sports news, with rain potentially making outdoor sports less practical.
