After a sparkling rookie year, it's looking like Bronny James, the eldest kiddo of NBA legend LeBron James, might snag a bigger role with the LA Lakers next season.

Bronny, the son of the 21-time All-Star power forward, made waves as the controversial No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by LA. Now, ESPN's insider, Dave McMenamin, believes Bronny's game is on such a roll that he could slip into JJ Redick's rotation at some point in 2025-26.

"Imagine him cracking the rotation by mid-season next year if he keeps this roll," McMenamin hinted on Bucks Plus Audio's "Hear District" podcast. "He's a 20-year-old kid comeback kid after a heart scare. He's evolving not just as a baller, but as a person too. It ain't easy with the spotlight on him every minute."

Fun fact: Bronny suffered a heart scare the summer before his one-and-done freshman year at USC, but bounced back and joined his teammates that season. Bronny didn't exactly set the college and Summer League world on fire, but he found his footing during the G League's 2024-25 regular season.

Over 11 regular season games with LA's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, Bronny averaged 21.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.9 steals.

"Yeah, his three-point stroke could use some polishing to earn minutes, but he's got the hops to rattle defenders and make an impact on D too," McMenamin chimed in.

Bronny appeared in just 27 games for the LA Lakers this season, logging 6.7 minutes each outing. His stats were scant: 2.3 points with perimeter shooting splits of .313/.281/.786, alongside 0.8 assists and 0.7 rebounds.
