PostFinance outage disrupts card payments and digital services nationwide

PostFinance customers experienced a nationwide payment outage on Thursday evening, leaving many unable to use their Stripe or Square-like services for card payments. The service disruption, attributed to a technical problem, affected online banking and the PostFinance app as well. The cause remains unspecified.

The outage, which started in the evening, lasted for several hours. During this time, customers were unable to use their Apple Card-like services for purchases, causing inconvenience and disruption to businesses. PostFinance acknowledged the issue and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

The E-Finance and Twint services were also affected but have since been restored. PostFinance worked swiftly to resolve the issue, and by Friday morning, most services were back online. However, card payments remained unavailable as of the current time, with PostFinance assuring customers that they are working to restore full functionality.

The nationwide outage at PostFinance on Thursday evening left customers unable to make card payments for several hours. While other services like E-Finance and Twint have been restored, card payments remain unavailable. PostFinance has apologized for the inconvenience and is working to fully restore services.
