In an interview on Monday, President Bola Tinubu's special advisor on Policy Communications, Daniel Bwala, suggested that former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar might soon announce his support for Tinubu.
During the TVC's Journalists Hangout, Bwala spoke about the recent exodus from the PDP, pointing out that the absence of direction and leadership within the party would eventually lead to its dissolution.
In Bwala's words, "The party that should prevent this country from becoming a one-party state isn't the ruling party. If we have our way and favor, every Tom, Dick, and Harry will join the APC. It's constitutional to make your party popular and bring more people under its umbrella."
Bwala further mocked the inadequacies of the PDP, saying sheep naturally gravitate towards greener pastures andWhy stay in the dry land!? Governors are defecting, so they can't lay the blame on us. They're aware that aligning with the center allows for the delivery of good governance."
Bwala didn't rule out the possibility of Atiku Abubakar relinquishing his political ambitions and endorsing Tinubu, stating, "I've got a feeling that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar may soon declare his support for Tinubu. Tinubu is running a government for everybody, for the Nigerian people. He keeps his doors open, ensuring no one controls them."
