Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany begins its racing schedule in the latter part of the season

The Nürburgring, the world's longest permanent racetrack, plays host to the 5th round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany from August 8 to 10. This special variant of the Grand Prix circuit, which is usually over five kilometers long, reduces a lap to 3.629 kilometers.

In the current season, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland is a two-person duel between Robert de Haan and Alessandro Ghiretti. De Haan, the most successful driver of the season with three wins, leads Ghiretti by a margin of over 50 points.

Meanwhile, the rookie standings are led by Sacha Norden from the Netherlands.

The highlight of this round will be the public debut of the new Porsche 911 Cup car, which is set to debut in racing series starting in 2026, not in 2025. The new vehicle, based on the Type 992.2 platform, features a more powerful 4.0-liter boxer engine producing 512 hp, improved aerodynamics, enhanced cooling, and simplified maintenance features, making it more performance-oriented, cost-effective, and easier for teams to handle.

The 2025 season of the Carrera Cup Deutschland still runs with the outgoing 992-generation 911 GT3 Cup car, and the new model will only start competing in 2026. As a result, the current standings after 8 races reflect activity with the previous generation 911 GT3 Cup.

Fans can follow all races live on the internet via platforms such as the Porsche Motorsport Hub, YouTube, and Facebook channels of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. ProSieben TV channel broadcasts both races live on the ran racing internet portal and shows a summary on free TV.

In addition, ntv, auto motor und sport TV, and Motorvision provide their own magazine contributions about races and backgrounds of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. The complete results and standings can be found on the Porsche Motorsport Hub.
