Kasabian, the iconic British rock band, have once again forged a connection with the football industry, as their new single "G.O.A.T. ft. Cristale" has been selected as the title track for Sky Sports Football's coverage. This marks the band's second stint as the theme providers for the Premier League, following the success of "Club Foot" from 2009 to 2011.

The reworked version of "G.O.A.T." has been specially adapted by Kasabian's frontman Serge Pizzorno for Sky Sports. The song, an upbeat and anthemic new track, symbolises self-belief and ambition, aligning with football's spirit.

"G.O.A.T. ft. Cristale" will make its debut on Sky's coverage from Anfield on Friday, marking the beginning of a minimum of 215 matches to be shown exclusively live on Sky. This new title track will feature prominently during the Premier League opener between Liverpool and Bournemouth.

The collaboration with London artist Cristale adds a fresh dimension to the track, with Pizzorno expressing his excitement about working with her. He dedicate the song to everyone reaching for more, on and off the pitch.

The original version of "G.O.A.T. ft. Cristale" is the fifth song on Kasabian's 2024 UK number one album, 'Happenings'. The album received 4/5 reviews from The Independent, NME, and The Telegraph.

Sky Sports Director of Football, Gary Hughes, stated that music has played a major part in Sky's football coverage since the very start. The history of Sky Sports Football title tracks shows a rotation of artists over the years, with Kasabian featuring prominently twice:

  • 2004-2009: Moloko – "The Time is Now"
  • 2009-2011: Kasabian – "Club Foot"
  • 2025 onward: Kasabian ft. Cristale – "G.O.A.T"

"Club Foot" is now the de facto theme song of the Premier League, and it's interesting to note that the original version of "G.O.A.T." was on Kasabian's number one 'Happenings' album.

As we look forward to the upcoming football season, the reworked version of "G.O.A.T. ft. Cristale" is set to renew Kasabian's connection with the football industry, providing a fitting soundtrack to the excitement and passion that surrounds the sport.
