Pope Leo XIV Busy Day of Audiences on September 18, 2025
Pope Leo XIV had a packed schedule on September 18, 2025, welcoming a variety of dignitaries and representatives to the Vatican.
The day began with the Holy Father receiving members of the Council of Presidents of the Mexican Episcopal Conference. This was followed by an audience with Cardinal Michael Czerny, Prefect of the Department for Promoting Integral Human Development.
In the afternoon, Pope Leo XIV received participants in the general chapters organized by several religious orders, including the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, Society of Mary, Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, and Ursuline Sisters of the Immaculate.
Monsignor Giordano Piccinotti, Archbishop Titular of Gradisca, and President of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA), also met with the Pope on the same day.
Another important meeting took place with Monsignor Antuan Ilgit, Bishop Titular of Tubernuca, Apostolic Administrator 'sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis' of the Apostolic Vicariate of Anatolia (Turkey).
Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Archbishop of Munich and Freising, also had an audience with Pope Leo XIV on September 18.
The day continued with meetings with Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and Monsignor Alejandro Arellano Cedillo, Archbishop Titular of Bisuldino, Dean of the 'Rota Romana' Tribunal.
Later in the afternoon, Monsignor Alberto German Bochatey, Bishop Titular of Monte di Mauritania, Auxiliary for the Archdiocese of La Plata (Argentina), was received by the Pope.
The day concluded with an audience with Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Marseille (France).
In addition to these meetings, Pope Leo XIV held two separate audiences with representatives of the media and others, as part of his official schedule on that day.
