Pope's installation ceremony scheduled by Vatican
Let's Get Dishin':
The big day for Pope Leo XIV is finally here! Reports from Reuters state that his official inaugural Mass will take place on St. Peter's Square in Vatican City on May 18. Just ain't no time to chill, huh?
The newly-crowned Pontiff is gonna gather his flock for his first general audience on May 21. Ain't no rest for the wicked, or the Pope, apparently!
As for who's gonna represent Russia (cuz let's be real, every pope needs a party rep) at the inauguration, Yuri Ushakov, an assistant to the Prez of Russia, spilled the beans to the media. He said someone will go, but nothing's set in stone yet. They're still in the midst of picking the right Russian vodka enthusiast for the job.
This all went down after the 69-year-old American cardinal, Robert Francis Prevo (now known as Leo XIV), took the reins during the two-day conclave in Vatican City on May 8. That's right, y'all, we've got ourselves a globe-trotting Pope!
It didn't take long for President Donald Trump to hop on that congratulatory train, followed closely by President Vladimir Putin, confirming their faith in the new Holy Father.
Leo XIV didn't waste any time hitting the ground running, previously addressing the faithful in Vatican City with a heartfelt "Peace be with you all!" He even took a moment to honor his predecessor, the late Pope Francis, urging everyone to remember the legacy he left behind.
