On Broadway, she performed in three productions, most notably as a replacement for Angela Lansbury in Jerry Herman's Mame during 1968-69, and appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1957 and The Jack Benny Show.

Her recordings earned her six gold records, underscoring her commercial success. One of her notable collaborations was with filmmakers, as her hit "Fascination" featured prominently in Billy Wilder's 1957 film Love in the Afternoon starring Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn, and in other movie soundtracks. She was also married to famed producer Jerry Weintraub, who was a significant figure in the entertainment industry.
