The music world is gearing up for an exciting event as the Intervision Song Contest returns on September 20, featuring representatives from 23 countries. This year's contest, held in Moscow, will showcase a diverse range of musical styles and backgrounds, with a focus on some of the world's musical giants.

The United States, with a market value of $17.1 billion, and China, with a market value of $1.4 billion, are among the powerhouses participating in the contest. The U.S. will be represented by Australian-Greek singer Vassy, who has made a significant impact in the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene. Vassy, an ambassador for the NOH8 Campaign, became the first woman to receive the "Icon" award for her contribution to EDM culture at the Electronic Dance Music Awards in 2023. She has also collaborated with top-tier EDM DJs like Afrojack, Tiesto, and David Guetta.

Another notable participant is Cuba, sending Zulema Iglesias Salazar with the song "Guaguanco". The music markets of the Intervision contest are nearly two-thirds of the global recorded music market, making it almost three times larger than the music markets of the countries participating in the Eurovision contest.

Brazil, with a music industry turnover of $650 million, will be represented by Luician Calazans and Taís Nader. India's international jury member is the veteran Bollywood composer Jaan Nissar Lone. India sends Rahul Malik, a superstar from Kashmir with impressive streaming numbers, to the contest.

The music industry of Intervision is not limited to the Western world. South Africa sends the group Mzansi Jikelele with the pop-gospel song "Home". Colombia's representative, Nidia Gongora, has a professional music video for her contest song "En Los Manglares".

Joe Lynn Turner, a legendary hard rock vocalist, will be a jury member in the Intervision contest. Turner, who has a long history with Russia and has been married there for 14 years, is known for his work in bands like Rainbow and Deep Purple. Turner's latest album, "Belly of the Beast", was produced by renowned metal producer Peter Tägtgren.

However, Germany was not listed among the official participants or representatives in the 2025 Intervision Song Contest. No specific German artist was mentioned as representing Germany at the event.

The total volume of the music markets of the participating countries amounts to approximately $20 billion, making this year's Intervision Song Contest a significant event in the global music industry. With representatives from diverse countries and genres, the contest promises to be a celebration of the power and unity of music.
