Municipal Election Voting Information for Oberhausen, Germany

Voters in Oberhausen, Germany, can prepare for the upcoming municipal election on September 14th, 2025, as the Elections Office has announced important details regarding the voting process.

All voters will receive their voting notification no later than August 24th, 2025. Voting will be available from August 11th, 2025, to August 12th, 2025.

For those who prefer to vote in person, there are several locations to choose from: Alt-Oberhausen, Sterkrade, and Osterfeld. The voting hours at these locations are as follows:

  • Alt-Oberhausen: Town Hall Oberhausen, Entrance Arcade, Schwartzstraße 7, 46045 Oberhausen. Voting hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, extending to 3:00 PM on August 12th, 2025. The location is also open on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, including September 6th, 2025.
  • Sterkrade: Technical Town Hall, Building C, Entrance Foyer, Bahnhofstraße 66, 46145 Oberhausen. Voting hours are the same as those at the Alt-Oberhausen location.
  • Osterfeld: Rathaus Osterfeld, Room 18, Bottroper Straße 18, 346117 Oberhausen. Voting hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, extending to 3:00 PM on August 12th, 2025.

For those unable to vote in person, mail-in voting is an option. Mail-in voting materials can be requested from the Elections Office of the city of Oberhausen. The completed and personally signed application should be sent back to the Elections Office.

The voting envelope can be sent by mail, delivered in person, or dropped off in a drop-box at the Elections Office address. The application for mail-in voting can be made using the printed application on the back of the voting notification or the QR code printed there. The voting envelope should be sent in time to arrive at the Elections Office no later than 16.00 hrs on election day.
