Majority of our respondents were aged between 41-60, with a slight edge towards the 41-50 age bracket. Most hail from Augsburg itself, making up 71%, while the rest come from nearby areas.
Augsburgians Want More Variety on Their Plates!
Bored of the same old doners, falafels, and burgers, 46% of the survey participants expressed a desire for a more diverse gastronomy scene in Augsburg. Many dreams linger for a French restaurant, while others yearn for simple, fresh Bavarian home-cooked meals.

Rising inflation and energy costs have led to higher prices in restaurants. Whopping 88% of the respondents agreed that dining out in Augsburg has become pricier. In response, 67% are in favor of a VAT reduction, even if it doesn't fully translate to lowered prices for customers. "Even if the VAT drops to 7%, restaurateurs won't pass the savings on to the customers," comments one participant.
Despite the increased costs, 58% of the diners still tip as generously as before. Tip-worthy service is critical for 28%.
