Buckle up, 'cause European Commission boss, Ursula von der Leyen, is about to receive some major kudos! This powerhouse politician has been chosen as the Politician of the Year by themagazine "Politics & Communication" and co-host Quadriga University in Berlin.

Why's she getting this prestigious award, you ask? Well, this gal's a standout leader who's steered Europe through some choppy waters and kept 'em steady during periods of geopolitical turmoil. Her skill, determination, and smarts have ensured that we Europeans stay on top of our game in a rapidly changing world.

The gala celebration goes down this Monday at Tipi am Kanzleramt, Berlin, and you can bet your bottom euro that there'll be plenty of movers and shakers from politics, media, and biz in attendance. The Politicaward honors individuals and projects that have had a significant impact on society. Flemish strategist, Marc De Vos, known for his work as a think-tanker and author, will deliver the laudation for von der Leyen.

On a side note, commission boss von der Leyen also received the International Karlspreis last Thursday.

Just a heads up, "Politics & Communication" and Quadriga University have been giving out the Politicaward annually for quite some time now, and on Monday, they'll honor former Federal President Joachim Gauck for his lifetime achievements. New Federal Minister of Housing, Verena Hubertz (SPD), will be hailed as the "Rising Star of the Year."
