Politicians Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn reportedly stirring up Green Party support after their recent party dispute

In a shocking turn of events, Zarah Sultana, a prominent figurehead of the newly formed political party known as Your Party, has accused the party's leadership of financial mismanagement and exclusion.

The allegations stem from an incident following a disagreement over a membership fee email sent out to Your Party supporters. Sultana claims she was treated appallingly and excluded completely by party officials, a claim denied by the party.

The membership funds are held by a company set up by Your Party to safeguard money until the founding conference in November. However, Sultana has accused Jeremy Corbyn, the party's former leader, of handing sole financial control of members' money to his ally Karie Murphy.

Sultana launched the membership website "in line with the road map" set out by Your Party officials. However, she was refused any other women with voting rights on the Working Group, blocking the gender-balanced committee that both Jeremy and Sultana signed up to. Furthermore, her name was not on the list of members founding the new party.

Sultana insists the membership portal is safe, secure, and legitimate. In contrast, Corbyn urged backers to cancel any direct debits set up due to an unauthorized email. The ICO can issue fines up to £17.5m or 4% of global turnover, or pass fraud and negligence cases to the police. Your Party has reported the case to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

The party, which currently operates under the placeholder name Your Party, has seen a significant number of sign-ups. More than 750,000 have signed up to the party's website, and more than 20,000 people have signed up to the £55 membership, equating to more than £1 million in funding in a single morning.

The founding conference will be held in November, and Your Party has announced draft party rules and policy positions would soon be published, followed by national assemblies in October and an online vote on the new name for the party.

The controversy has not been limited to financial matters. Sultana has accused Corbyn of overseeing a "sexist boys' club," a claim that has been echoed by Owen Jones and Ash Sarkar, high-profile names on the left. They claim that the chaotic management of the new party will push people towards the Green Party.

As the November conference approaches, the future of Your Party remains uncertain, with questions surrounding its leadership and financial management. Sultana, however, has called for Corbyn to publish all party structures to restore hope for members and prevent similar incidents.
