Politician's Scandalous Whispered Secrets Expose Governor's Crimes: Insiders Revel

Park University's Women's Volleyball Team Wins National Championship

Park University's women's volleyball team made history on December 1, 2018, by winning the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship. The final match against Columbia (Mo.) College was a thrilling five-set match that required extra play.

The team's coach, Michael Talamantes, is in his 15th season as head coach for both the women's and men's volleyball programs, and has also coached the beach volleyball program for 7 seasons. Stories about the championship rally were featured on KMBC-TV, KSHB-TV, WDAF-TV, and KMBZ-FM.

The team's success extends beyond the court, as they also set a new record with 88 Heart Scholar-Athletes recognized by the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the 2024-25 academic year. The women's volleyball team contributed to this success, with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher among the criteria for this honor.

Individual awards were also bestowed upon members of the team. Nada Meawad was named the national tournament Most Valuable Player, while Celina Monteiro was named the tournament's Defender of the Year. Danna Gomes and Maren Roper were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

In a separate event, Dr. Arnold Rampersad, professor emeritus at Stanford University, will speak on Jackie Robinson at the 2019 Spencer Cave Black History Month Lecture. The lecture, which is in partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the National Archives at Kansas City, will be held on Feb. 25 at the Gem Theater in Kansas City, Mo.

Park University received a $2,500 grant from the Missouri Humanities Council for the University's Spencer Cave Black History Month Lecture Series. The Missouri Humanities Council, the only Missouri agency devoted exclusively to humanities education for citizens of all ages, has been a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities since 1971.

Cynthia Levin, '77, producing artistic director of the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., was also featured in a story that appeared on the KCUR-FM website on Nov. 16.

Kirby R. Brown has been appointed as the dean of Park University's College of Management, starting on Jan 1, 2019. Robert Kao and Naseem Al Rahahleh published an article in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management on Nov 28.

While there is no specific historical detail about the women's volleyball team's past performances found in the search results, the team's recent championship win and individual awards are a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The victory of Park University's Women's Volleyball Team in the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship could potentially influence the sports-betting market for upcoming volleyball tournaments. However, the unpredictable weather conditions might impact the outdoor ceremonies surrounding the 2019 Spencer Cave Black History Month Lecture.
