Politicians Respond to Speculation of Governor Eno Leaving PDP, Citing Changes in Attire as Indication

In an informal chat with Vanguard, Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), voiced his disappointment over Governor Umo Eno's rumored defection from the party. Osadolor expressed his persuasion that Eno should focus on electoral reforms rather than jumping ship to another party.

Echoing the PDP's views, Osadolor asserted that Governor Eno has been with the party for over 25 years and possesses a moral obligation to uphold the integrity of Nigeria's democratic system. He questioned the justification behind Eno's reported intentions, commenting,

Osadolor further argued that political leaders ought to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Nigerian population, championing essential reforms instead of flitting between parties due to personal fears.

While speculating about Eno's reasons for considering defection, Osadolor hinted at the governor's apprehension about being "rigged out" in the next elections. He also criticized the current administration's treatment of opposition figures, questioning whether political allegiance could magically absolve corrupt leaders.

"I can't help but wonder, why is this administration so hostile towards opposition figures? Does changing parties suddenly purify one's soul? Institutions must be built on strong principles, not individuals," Osadolor pondered.

He concluded by urging Governor Eno to reflect on the legacy he wants to leave behind and use his position as governor of an oil-rich state to advocate for electoral justice, stating:
