Charly Boy Warns Against Election Manipulation, Urges Credible Polls in 2027

Charly Boy, a renowned Nigerian entertainer and social activist, has issued a stern warning to politicians against manipulating or rigging the 2027 general election. The veteran artist, known for his outspokenness, has emphasised that the 2027 election will be a defining moment for Nigeria.

In a recent interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica, Charly Boy stated that the solution to bad governance in Nigeria can only come when our votes begin to count. He reiterated that ensuring credible elections is the only way to address Nigeria’s poor governance.

Charly Boy's warning comes with a clear message: "rig and die." This phrase emphasises the severity of the consequences for rigging the election. He believes that by 2026, Nigerians will be fully aware and ready to demand change, potentially causing a revolution if manipulation continues.

The entertainer's concern is not the renaming of the 'Charly Boy Bus Stop' in Lagos, but the welfare of Nigerians. He has criticised the Lagos state government for renaming the bus stop without consulting the people of Bariga and Gbagada. Charly Boy considers this as a distraction from the main issue of rescuing millions of Nigerians from hunger.

Charly Boy has previously warned against manipulating the 2027 election and has emphasised the severity of the consequences for rigging. He also believes that credible elections are the only way to address poor governance and that Lagos belongs to all tribes, not just the Yorubas, in reference to the bus stop renaming controversy.
