Fresh Start: Frauke Petry to Launch New Anti-Statist Party in Germany

Frauke Petry Launches New Political Party - Politician Frauke Petry advocates for establishing a new political party.

Prepare to witness a political shake-up in Germany! Ex-AfD chairwoman, Frauke Petry, has confirmed plans to establish a new party, targeting state elections as early as 2026. "A group of us founded 'Team Freedom' association several months ago," Petry shared during a recent interview in Welt, although the party's name remains under wraps for now[1].

Emphasizing the void in the party system, Petry points out, "It's not about the divide between CDU and AfD, but the lack of an anti-statist, libertarian offering[3]." This new party will champion a cultural re-alignment with the West and provide an alternative to the existing political landscape with its anti-statist agenda[2].

Petry aims to slice the state quota—the ratio of state expenditure to GDP—from roughly 50% to 25% within five years[3]. And guess what? There's no existing party out there with such a bold aim and a commitment to safeguarding freedom of speech[3].

The Deviation from AfD

It all began when Petry co-founded the AfD with Bernd Lucke and colleagues but left shortly following the 2017 federal election due to internal conflicts. The rise of the far-right faction surrounding Thuringian AfD leader Björn Höcke was, according to Petry, the driving force behind her departure from the party[1].

After dissolving the Blue Party in 2019 following poor election results in Saxony and Thuringia, Petry is now ready for a fresh start[1]. "We're eyeing the upcoming state elections in Baden-Württemberg, and Rhineland-Palatinate," she announced[3]. Remarkably, the new party won't necessarily require membership, instead, inviting independent citizens and entrepreneurs with life and professional experience to join their ranks[3]. That's a whopping 98% of the population!

So gear up, Germany! Petry's new party could soon be shaking up the political landscape with a bold, anti-state agenda, focusing on economic freedom and cultural ties with the West. Keep an eye out for the mysterious newcomer on the block![1][2][3]
